Memorials
This page is a dedication to the wonderful pets and people that have enriched our lives. If you would like to recognize someone, please email a picture and a few short sentences honoring your loved one or pet to rescue@coloradocaninerescue.org. We ask for a small memorial donation, whatever you feel you can afford. This can be paid via PayPal or sent to PO Box 783, Englewood, CO 80113. The memorial will remain on the site as long as room permits. A memorial listing will also be included in the quarterly newsletters.
Herc
Herc
Herc was one of a large litter of puppies saved by Southeast Bloodhound Rescue in 2001. Although he achieved a great deal in his life-AKC Canine Good Citizen, Therapy Dog, operational in search and rescue in both trailing and cadaver, his biggest achievement was his amazing personality. He was gentle and kind; somehow people sensed this and were drawn to him. Even as he lay awaiting the vet in his last hours, an elderly lady tottered over to give pets saying, "I just couldn't stay away." Just his presence gave a sense of peace. He will be missed by many. I have no doubt that he would like his legacy to be that other pups were given a chance. Please, support CCR.
Blackie
Blackie
Blackie passed away in his owners loving arms after 12 great years. He played catch like a dog and provided a shoulder to cry on, but also had the sassy attitude of a cat. He will be missed
Sadie
Sadie
In memory of sweet, beautiful Sadie. Sadly, she had only a short time away from the shelter before succumbing to neurological problems. For a while, at least, we could give her a safe place and then arms to hold her as she passed.
Zoe
Zoe
Zoe was my best friend for over 9 years. Up until I met my husband she was my favorite hiking, camping and skiing partner. I hope that she finds heaven filled with tennis balls and slow moving squirrels.
