Colorado Canine Rescue, CCR, was founded by Amy Taylor in 2008.  She and three other friends and family formed CCR's board and started building this small dog rescue.  CCR was incorporated on August 8, 2008 and received its 501c3 tax exempt status in January of 2009.

CCR is still a small group run entirely by volunteers in the Denver area.  Our mission is to rescue dogs from the shelters that have been overlooked and have run out of time. We are not breed specific and will take dogs into our program depending on the availability of our foster homes.

We have no central location. Our dogs stay with loving foster homes while they recieve the medical and behavioral care they need.  Our goal is to find an adoptive family whose needs and lifestyle perfectly match those of our dogs' to ensure that it is a permanent, loving home.

As of March, 2014, we have rescued about 280 dogs that were "next-in-line" at the shelters.  We continue to grow as resources become available, but slowly, to ensure that each dog gets the individual attention it needs to receive the appropriate care and the best possible placement in it's forever- home.
